Type 1 Diabetes isn’t fair.

WHO AM I?

My name is Brittany Horton and I am so excited to start this new chapter in my life. For about 6 years now I've been tossing around the idea of starting a blog but lets be honest... I'm just a little nobody from Louisiana, what could I possibly have to offer? I know, LIES! but unfortunately I put it off over an over again because I was scared and a little bit lazy. Well today is the day! I haven't been able to shake the feeling that I should be sharing all of our life experiences with others who may be going through the same things and seeking out help and advice the way I once did. So here is some back story to get us started. I was born and raised in church. My father was the pastor and if the doors were open we were there. I met my husband Cole through a mutual friend who attended our church when I was in 8th grade! Now I know what you're thinking... no, we didn't even start dating until I was 18. Almost 4 years later we married and started our lives. We have three beautiful children. Payton, William, and Sophia who are all very unique. We love our crazy family and are always on the move.

So, why did I decide to start blogging?
Well to be completely honest I’m very passionate about a lot of things and I love information. So why not start sharing it with others in need?

I’m the mother of a Type 1 Diabetic.
My oldest daughter Payton was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and Celiac when she was just 5 years old. It was one of the scariest and most stressful times in my life. With 7 years of experience under my belt now I’d like for this blog to be a place people can come for real life helpful hints, tricks, and goals as well as food options and any knowledge I have that can be helpful for you. I want to be here for you and your family in the way that I wish was available as we began our journey.

Thanks for coming, May God bless you

We need to take more family pictures!

You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them. -Desmond Tutu
